Students on the MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme at Lancaster University Leipzig have the opportunity to broaden their academic and cultural horizons through a one-week exchange with SKEMA Business School in Lille, France.
As part of the exchange, Lancaster University Leipzig students travel to SKEMA Business School, where they attend classes alongside fellow MSc students and experience a different teaching environment. In return, students from SKEMA visit Lancaster University Leipzig for a week, taking part in classes and experiencing student life on our campus.
One of the recent participants, MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management student Ageng, travelled to Lille together with six classmates. During the week at SKEMA Business School, the group completed two specialist courses: AI and Digital Transformation and AI for Supply Chains and Procurement.
Reflecting on the experience, he particularly appreciated SKEMA’s interactive approach to teaching.
What impressed me most was the teaching approach. The professors created an engaging and interactive learning environment with group discussions, collaboration, and open Q&A sessions. The exchange experience significantly enhanced my understanding of artificial intelligence and its applications in logistics and supply chain management. It also strengthened my ambition to pursue a future career in Europe.
Beyond the classroom, the exchange also offered opportunities to experience the local culture. During his stay, he explored the Lille region, visited Brussels and enjoyed discovering the city’s vibrant atmosphere while going for runs around the city.
By welcoming SKEMA students to Leipzig in return, the exchange creates an enriching learning experience for both institutions. Students work together in an international classroom, exchange ideas and gain first-hand insights into different academic approaches and cultural perspectives.
The partnership with SKEMA Business School reflects Lancaster University Leipzig’s commitment to providing students with international learning opportunities that prepare them for careers in an increasingly global business environment.
