What was your favourite part of studying at LU Leipzig looking back now?
Looking back, my favourite part of studying at LU Leipzig was the strong sense of community. Getting to know people from diverse backgrounds and learning from each other was an incredible experience. I always enjoyed attending university events, as they brought everyone together and made student life even more engaging. Additionally, the smaller lecture sizes allowed for direct and meaningful communication with professors, which was a major advantage in enhancing the learning experience.
How did your time at LU Leipzig shape your personal and professional growth?
On a personal level, it was my first experience moving to a new continent to pursue my studies without my family. This journey taught me independence, resilience, and the importance of balancing academic responsibilities while still enjoying student life. The incredible support from Lancaster’s staff made the transition smoother, always being there to assist me and connect me with other students going through the same experience. Professionally, the knowledge and skills I gained at LU Leipzig provided a strong foundation for my career. Without the academic and practical insights I acquired, I wouldn’t be where I am today. LU Leipzig not only shaped my understanding of business and marketing but also helped me develop the confidence and adaptability essential for my future.
Can you share one memorable experience or achievement from your student life?
One of my most memorable experiences was leading the social committee and organizing events like International Day and the End-of-Year Party each year during my time at LU Leipzig. Working alongside other students who shared the same goal of fostering community made the experience even more rewarding. Bringing people together to celebrate diverse cultures and create lasting memories is something I will always cherish.
Which courses had a significant impact on you?
The courses that had the greatest impact on me were Global Media Classroom, Social Media Marketing, and Principles of Strategic Management. They sparked my curiosity and helped me discover my passion, ultimately guiding me toward the career path I wanted to pursue after my studies.
Did you take part in internships, projects, or networking opportunities during your studies that helped shape your career?
During my second year, I attended a career fair at LU Leipzig, where I had the opportunity to start networking. There, I met a hiring manager who later offered me a part-time role in digital marketing. This experience was incredibly enriching, allowing me to gain practical insights and further shape my career aspirations.
What you are doing now after finishing your bachelor’s degree?
I am proud of being accepted into one of the top 10 universities in the world for my master’s degree: MSc in Strategic Marketing at Imperial College London, where I am developing expertise in key areas such as digital marketing, business analytics, and brand management. My studies focus on leveraging data-driven insights to craft effective marketing strategies and drive brand success in a competitive landscape.
How can you apply what you have learned in your studies to what you are doing now?
What I learned at LU Leipzig has been of importance in continuing my studies, particularly in developing strong organizational skills and critical thinking. The ability to structure my work effectively and analyze problems from different perspectives is something I apply to every project I take on today.
How do you stay connected with the Lancaster University Leipzig community?
I signed up for the Lancaster University alumni community in the UK, where I attend events that bring alumni together for networking and connection. With the LU Leipzig community, I make an effort to stay in touch with my former classmates and catch up every once in a while.
What advice would you give to current and prospective students of LU Leipzig?
I know that juggling everything, especially when you’re far from home, can be tough at times. But my best advice is to never doubt yourself. With hard work and good organisation, you’ll be able to make the most of your university experience and achieve your goals.
