Boom and Bust – Are Financial Crises Part of the System?
The film tells the story of the 2008 financial crisis and the small group of investors who
predicted the collapse of the US housing market long before it became apparent to
the wider public.
Following the screening, Dr Vidhya Unnikrishnan and Dr Stefan Kupfer, both from
Lancaster University Leipzig, will reflect on the mechanisms behind financial bubbles
and market crashes and explore what the film reveals about the functioning of
modern financial systems. The event will take place in English.
