Museum Visit as Part of Study Course

03 Dec 2025

As part of the course Digital Business & Organisational Transformation, a student group visited the exhibition “Robotron. Code und Utopie” at the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig (GfZK) together with our Assistant Professor in Business Management Dr. Melissa Bejjani-Cazaré.

The exhibition revisits the rapid rise of computers and microelectronics in the GDR – a key chapter of the “third industrial revolution”. The visit allowed students to connect historical developments with today’s debates on digitalisation, the interplay of geopolitics and global markets and the contradictions of planned economies.

By engaging with artistic interpretations of technology and organisational systems, the group reflected on broader questions that remain relevant today:

How do technological visions influence social structures? What is the environmental impact of digitalisation? And how can critical, interdisciplinary perspectives enrich our understanding of digital transformation?

We thank GfZK and the curatorial team of Robotron. Code und Utopie for providing an inspiring and thought-provoking learning environment.
