Tuition fees 2022/2023 

Course fees are dependent on which degree programme you pursue and your country of origin.

For undergraduate students Lancaster University Leipzig has two different types of tuition fee: EU/UK students pay €9,450 and non-EU students pay €15,750 per year. Please note: We offer student finance for applicants from the EU/UK/EEA area through our partner CHANCEN eG.

At postgraduate level, Lancaster University Leipzig has one type of tuition fee for EU and non-EU students.

Additional costs

Upon arrival in Germany, all students are required to:

  • pay for their course materials

  • purchase the local transportation ticket (MDV)

  • be covered by either public or private health insurance. The cost per month is up to €105  (depending on the insurance provider)

Annual ticket costs for students:

  • January-September: €322,50*

  • October-September: €430*

During orientation week you will receive a student pass which will also be your travel pass. The compulsory amount of €322,50 or €430 will be invoiced by Lancaster University Leipzig. It is mandatory to have a local transportation ticket and it is not possible to opt out.
