Lancaster University 

Lancaster University is among the best universities in the UK, having achieved Top 10 in all three major national league tables, as well as highly ranked in international league tables such as the QS World Rankings. 

League tables can't tell you everything about a university, but they're a good place to start. Out of over 120 UK Universities, Lancaster University is consistently in the top ten and maintained their 6th place position in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019. The Management School of Lancaster University is quadruple-accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA and the Small Business Charter. 

Ranked 135th in the World

Announced September 2020, Lancaster University is delighted to rank 135th in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Ranking. The University has risen up the ranking, improving from 139th in 2020. 

Better than the Russell Group?

Lancaster University outperforms most Russell Group universities on most objective measures of performance. We outrank the majority of Russell Group institutions in the three major UK league tables (Times/Sunday Times, Guardian, Complete University Guide).

Lancaster University has been named as "International University of the Year 2020" by The Times and Sunday Times.

Ranked 7th for Teaching Excellence in Europe

Lancaster University is among the best universities for teaching excellence in the Times Higher Education Europe Teaching Rankings. This is the first international university ranking focused entirely on teaching and learning.

Gold Standard Teaching

Lancaster University has been awarded the highest possible score in the UK government's 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) ratings. The TEF Gold rating is based on high-quality teaching, excellent teaching facilities and graduate prospects.

Research excellence

Lancaster is a research-intensive university, with 35% of research classed as world-leading and 48% classed as internationally excellent in the UK Government's latest independent review, the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.

Did you know that you may have the option to spend your 2nd year at Lancaster University in the UK? Based on your academic standing, you may have the option to start and finish your degree in Germany and spend one academic year in the UK. 

Lancaster's community extends far beyond the campus with research, teaching and student exchange partnerships at leading universities and institutions in 24 countries around the world.

The University has about twelve thousand full-time students studying at Lancaster for first and higher degrees, and about seven hundred academic staff out of a total staff complement of over two thousand. In addition, the University has partnerships with higher education establishments overseas, including Sunway University College in Kuala Lumpur and the Federal University of Lavras in Brazil, as well as a campus in Ghana. The newly opened campus in Leipzig now also provides a unique opportunity to obtain highly ranked UK education in Germany.
