Covid-19 update October 2020
October 28, 2020
Lancaster University Leipzig’s main priority is the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community. Therefore, we have adopted detailed safety protocols and measures based on the guidance of relevant German authorities, which we update and adapt accordingly. We have started delivering the academic year 2020/2021 on-campus.
The number of new COVID cases per 100.000 in the last 7 days has gone above 35. In order to ensure the safety for both staff and students, we have taken the decision to follow a change in precautionary measures, and move all teaching from face-to-face to online delivery starting from Monday, the 2nd of November 2020. Please join your lessons via teams, but refrain from coming to campus unless you want to speak to a member of the support team face-to-face. This is in accordance with the Saxonian Government's Covid-19 plan. We are constantly monitoring the situation and will return to the hybrid teaching mode after Leipzig stayed below the figure of 35 new cases in 100.000 inhabitants in the last 7 days for 3 consecutive days.
We are in routine contact with our students on current governmental guidelines and recommendations to ensure they feel safe in Leipzig.
If you have any questions during the next period or would like to schedule an individual call, please feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
